Before Horizon departed, unmanned Anchor Ships were sent into the unknown. Their task was simple: explore, map, build, and wait.
The Anchor Ships searched distant systems for resources, habitable worlds, and safe routes through the stars.
Where they could, they constructed quantum portals — gateways designed to connect the scattered remains of a civilization across impossible distances.
Then Horizon left.
Thousands of years passed.
The civilization vanished. Its name was forgotten.
But somewhere in the darkness, the mission continued.
